This was disclosed when delegations from the World Bank and the Federal Programme Implementation Unit of the Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (SURWASH) visited Delta State.

Team lead, Ms. Judith Warmate Snr, a  water supply and sanitation specialist at the World Bank, said the team which was on a five-day mission to the state said the states were expected to take advantage of their mission to learn and improve on efforts to make water available for residents in the various states.

“The team is not out to find fault but to have honest conversations with participating states as part of activities to ensure sustainable access to potable water for Deltans and residents,” he said.

During an interactive session, Mr. Abudulhamid Guaram, the national programme coordinator of SURWASH, said the essence of the mission was to assess grounds covered by states, hear challenges being encountered by them with a view to proffering solutions on how to surmount the identified challenges and ensure residents get potable water.
