The people of Ngbo Community in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State and their Agila neighbours in Ado local government area of Benue State have resolved to find a lasting solution to the age-long communal war that has led to the death of hundreds of people, destruction of property worth billions and rendering thousands homeless.

The two communities took the step by clearing their link roads and simultaneously visiting each other, as a way to restore peace, unity and order between them.

It would be recalled that the Ngbo-Agila war started in 1921 following a dispute over a vast piece of land which was never resolved by successive administrations and the National Boundary Commission.

As part of the move to bring a lasting solution to the unending war, indigenes of Ngbo community visited the Agila people while the Agila people in return visited Ngbo community at the weekend.

Addressing the Agila and Ngbo people during the visit, the Ebonyi State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Patricia Obila commended the two communities for the bold step taken adding that a lasting peace will bring development and government presence to the communities.
