NIM Advocates Innovative Solutions For Economic Growth

In a bid to stimulate economic growth, the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) has called upon its members to champion innovative solutions.

President of NIM, Christiana Atako , made this call during the institute’s Annual Corporate Dinner themed “Innovate to Elevate: A Night of Strategic Excellence.”

The prestigious event brought together professionals, managers, and leaders from diverse sectors, aiming to deliberate on the crucial role of management in shaping Nigeria’s developmental trajectory.

Atako stressed the significance of collaborative discussions in shaping decisions that would impact economic, social, physical, and environmental aspects, among others.

“As a professional body, we convene to address contemporary issues that shape decisions affecting stakeholders, ministries, departments, agencies, and the national leadership,” Atako explained.

Highlighting the need for strategic preparedness amid global challenges, Atako encouraged managers to align their businesses and individuals with global trends. She specifically underscored the transformative potential of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), emphasising the importance of understanding and integrating these advancements to address national challenges.

Chairman of NIM’s Maitama branch, Abdul Zubair, shed light on the theme’s relevance, encapsulating the pivotal roles of management professionals. He emphasised the profound influence of good management practices on business efficiency, institutional effectiveness, and community sustainability.

Executive commissioner, Operations, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), Dr. Adamu Abdullahi, also weighed in, expressing the agency’s recognition of the importance of technology and innovation in achieving world-class standards. He commended the emergence of the agency as a significant development poised to deliver tangible benefits for Nigerians within a functional economy.
