Bauchi State University, Gadau (BASUG), marked a historic milestone during its maiden convocation ceremony by conferring Honorary Doctorate Degrees upon exceptional individuals, including Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
Governor Mohammed, alongside esteemed figures such as Emir of Bauchi Dr. Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, Emir of Katagum Umar Faruq II, Former Bauchi State Governor Malam Isah Yuguda, and Late Malam Sa’idu Zungur, was recognized for their remarkable contributions to the university’s advancement and their immense impact within the education sector.
The convocation, a significant moment in BASUG’s history, acknowledged the exceptional accomplishments and dedication of these individuals to the development of Bauchi and their invaluable service to humanity. Governor Mohammed, in particular, received an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa), Doctor of Letters, a testament to his outstanding leadership and commitment to rebuilding Bauchi State.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Governor Mohammed highlighted the importance of the occasion and the responsibility it holds. He underscored his administration’s dedication to the state’s progress and outlined plans for an Educational Summit scheduled for 18th to 19th December.
This summit aims to revolutionize the education sector, ensuring equitable access to quality education while addressing emerging challenges like security issues plaguing the state and the nation.
The convocation also celebrated the graduation of 7,543 students across various academic disciplines.
