The Peace In the Southeast Project (PISEP) has stressed the need for a non-kinetic strategy instead of total military force in addressing insecurity in the Southeast zone.
The chairman, media and communications committee of the project, Mary Ikoku who stated this at a press conference in Abuja yesterday, said only military force was yet to yield the desired result, and suggested dialogue as a better alternative.
Ikoku said the peace project would be unveiled at the homecoming and grand reception of the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, by people of the South East on December 29.
She said the reception was being organised by the Peace in Southeast Project and the people of Bende local government area of Abia State, Kalu’s constituency, in appreciation of his commitment to public service and contributions to the region and the nation in general.
