Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia has said since unprovoked attacks on farming communities by suspected herdsmen/terrorists have become common in Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa and Niger States, there is need for a united strategy, willpower and tight security at the border communities to check the menace.

Governor Alia made stated this in Jos when he visited the people of Plateau to sympathise with the governor of the state, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and the entire people of Plateau State, over the recent attacks on Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi, where over 200 persons were reportedly killed on the eve of the 2023 Christmas by armed bandits

The governor called on the people of Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue and Niger States to unite in the fight against terrorists who are disrupting the peace of the North Central states.

According to him, “since the problem of incessant unprovoked attacks on farming communities has become common in the four states of the North Central, there is every need for a united strategy, willpower to check insecurity at the borders communities”
