The management appointed a former captain and coach of the team, Tunde Sanni Salihu, as the chief coach.

Coach Salihu was until his appointment, the chief coach of Abia Warriors of Abia state, and the Kwara State chairman of Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA).

Recall that Kwara United’s technical crew led by Coach Kabir Sulaiman Dogo were given a three match ultimatum immediately after a goalless draw against Niger Tornadoes in Ilorin.

At a meeting held at the FA office to review the performance of the club after the ultimatum, the management retains Dogo as technical adviser,  but he will now be assisted by Coach Sanni as chief coach of the team, while Coach Olaniyi Mukaila Shittu also remains as assistant coach.

A prominent Football stakeholder, Alloy Chukwuemeka, who said that the performance of the team was far below expectations, reminded the players that Kwarans are not happy.

The captain, Bamidele Aiyenugba, his assistant  Kabir Balogun and other players pledged to promote unity and togetherness, and commitment to the cause of the team.
