Guard Kills Police Inspector In Adamawa

A security guard, Andy Ukoh, has accidentally shot dead a police inspector, Richard Felix, while attempting to rescue the deceased from theA attack of five suspected “Shila Gang” miscreants in Adamawa State.

Already, Ukoh and one of the miscreants, Mordecai Elisha, have been remanded at the correctional centre by the Chief Magistrate Court I for alleged criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of weapon and culpable homicide.

Ukoh pleaded not guilty while Mordecai admitted having committed the offence.

The deceased attached to 43 PMF Lagos State was killed while on his way home in Jambutu, Yola North local government area from Sangamu Hotel on January 1, 2024 at 1 am.

The deceased after leaving a hotel (name withheld) was trailed and attacked by five suspected “Shila Boys’ including Mordecai.

The security guard who was manning the gate of the hotel, saw how the police officer was being attacked by the hoodlums decided to rush to the scene of the crime to rescue him. He was said to have accidentally shot him, which led to the inspector’s death.

The matter was adjourned to January 18, 2024, to await legal advice from the director of public prosecution.
