Chairperson of the council, Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko made the pledge during the launching of Mama-to-Mama support groups at the council’s conference hall.
Zainab said the Mama-to-Mama volunteers would go from house to house to sensitise women on the importance of going for antenatal during early pregnancies, ensuring that children are fully immunized as well as proper hand-washing and personal hygiene.

She added that the project would be conducted across the 20 local government areas of the state by the LGA gender equality champion, calling on people to cooperate with the volunteers for effective discharge of their duties.
