As part of efforts to extend health insurance to all parts of Gombe State, Governor Inuwa Yahaya has commissioned offices of Gombe State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (GO-HEALTH) in the 11 local government areas of the state.

The governor flagged off the programme in Yamaltu/Deba local government with the opening of the GO-HEALTH office at Deba general hospital.

Represented by his deputy, Manasseh Jatau, the governor assured of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare service is taken to the doorstep of everyone in the state.

He said the launch of the local government offices was to strengthen the GO-HEALTH programme which was established in 2021 for easy access to quality healthcare by residents without any bottleneck.

“To ensure provision of access to quality healthcare services, the government has so far enrolled over 140,000 persons in the state into the insurance scheme who have been accessing services at a reduced cost,” he noted.

The executive secretary of GO-HEALTH, Dr Abubakar Musa explained that the launch of call centres in the local government areas was aimed at making the programme more responsive to the health needs of the people adding that the centres are well-equipped for easy digital capturing of beneficiaries.
