The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) has trained 40 retirees in Bauchi state on welding and fashion designing to alleviate the hardship experienced by retirees in the state.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the one-week training in Bauchi, the Northeast zonal coordinator of the agency, Mahmood Isa, said the agency decided to give retirees entrepreneurship training on how to handle small businesses.

According to him, SMEDAN would give trainees some packages to uplift their lives adding that the programme is a continuous one as it will still be further extended to more retirees in the Bauchi state.
