Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf has congratulated the newly sworn in governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The message was contained in a press statement signed by the chief press secretary to the speaker, Yabagi Mohammed. The speaker said in the statement that Governor Ododo is coming at a time the bar has been raised high by the immediate past governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and expressed optimism that the new governor would match and possibly surpass the records.

According to Umar, a new Kogi is possible within the shortest period because of the solid foundation that has been laid before Governor Bello vacated the office.
The speaker therefore charged Governor Ododo to hit the ground running in earnest, by putting machinery in place immediately, for the growth and development of Kogi State.
He used the opportunity to thank the people of the state afresh for the overwhelming support they gave the ruling All Progressives Congress in last year’s governorship election and assured them that Governor Ododo would not disappoint.

Umar urged the people of the state to continue to support and pray for the new administration to ensure a better future for the people.
