He made this assurance during a meeting with members of the Governing Councils of the institutions on Wednesday in Akure.

The institutions represented were the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (UNIMED), Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa (OAUSTECH), and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA).

Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the invaluable contributions of these institutions to society, particularly in terms of human capital development.

He assured them of his administration’s commitment to addressing the various challenges they face and pledged to do so “as soon as possible.”

Furthermore, he called for continued collaboration and support from the institutions to help his administration achieve its goal of promoting excellence in education throughout the state.

“Within our available resources, we will support you,” Governor Aiyedatiwa stated.

“Whatever we can also do to influence support from outside sources, we will do so as well. We will definitely support all our institutions because your contribution to society cannot be overemphasised.”

Earlier, Prof. Ayodele Arowojolu, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of UNIMED, expressed condolences to Governor Aiyedatiwa over the recent passing of former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, praising his leadership qualities.

Professor Arowojolu also expressed gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for releasing funds for the Faculty of Pharmacy at UNIMED and appealed for further support for ongoing projects.

Similarly, Chairman of the Governing Council of OAUSTECH, Prof. Akinbo Adesomoju, urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to continue with Akeredolu’s legacy in developing the institution, noting neglected structures and the need for modern facilities.

Prof. Olugbenga Ige, Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, expressed solidarity with Governor Aiyedatiwa and commended his swift efforts in enhancing the educational landscape of the state since assuming office.
