12 Strong FC Wins Merrybet 5Stars Premier League Northern Region Title

12 Strong FC defeated Mess Up FC 3-2 to emerged as Abuja region champions of the 2022 Merrybet 5Stars Premier League.

At the epic final decided in the nation’s capital over the weekend saw 12 Strong FC held on after taking a 3 goal lead in a 16-minute spell to beat opponents Mess Up FC 3-2 in the pouring rain.

The 8-week long spectacle saw arguably Abuja’s biggest Futsal side Suicide Jubril dethroned after a 2-year reign as Champions and emergence of new sides competing for the right to represent the region.

This season, which is the expanded year of the Futsal tournament, sees the Central Business Area side of the capital as the Northern region representatives in the National final set to take place on October 1st Independence Day in Ibadan.

All eyes are now focused on Lagos in the very first ever edition in the state on August 13th at Meadow Hall Lekki Phase 1 to determine the Southern region representatives.

A press conference will be held on the 6th of August by 2pm at Four-points by Sheraton Hotel with expected panelists and guests like The first Vice-President of the NFF and Lagos State FA Chairman Mr. Seyi Akinwummi, Mr. Oluwatoyin Gafar DG Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye SSA on Sports to The Governor Lagos State, Mr. Shola Ogunowo The Chief Operating Officer of the Nationwide League One, Mrs Erika Mitchell and Mr Nicholas of American sports company Sports Unlimited in Atlanta, Mr Moses Praiz and Mr Ralphael George of SuperSporttv and other keynote speakers.

The National Final which is expected to be held afterwards following an agreement between 5Stars Football & Consultancy in collaboration with Merrybet Sports and the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports under the leadership of the commissioner Hon. Seun Fakorede will provide neutrality for a venue for the final, an avenue to showcase Futsal football development as well as exploring the possibility of having a league in the state in the nearest future which is in keeping with the national mandate by 5Stars Football & Consultancy Limited.
