Kebbi State government has announced the indefinite closure of academic activities in two private tertiary schools for non-payment of their annual dues.
The state commissioner for higher education, Isah Abubakar Tunga, disclosed the closure of the schools in a statement signed by the director of higher education, Aliyu Shehu Jega.
He mentioned the two affected private schools in the statement as Lamido Umaru Mutube College of Advanced Studies and Health Sciences and Technology, Dakingari and SAHAM College of Health Sciences and Technology, Zuru.
According to the commissioner, the suspension of their academic activities followed their failure to pay annual dues of N100,000 each for the two consecutive years of 2022 and 2023 to the ministry.
The total amount owed is N200,000 each for the two affected institutions.
