The Gombe State Police Command has denied claims by the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) that bandits have infiltrated the state.
The Civil Defence boss made the claim in a video clip that went viral on social media within the week wherein he also asserted that the informants of the bandits have been on the increase.

However, in a press release issued by its spokesperson, Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar on Friday, the police refuted the remarks by the sister security agency insisting that there were no such threats in the state.
“The command wishes to state emphatically that there is no such threat in Gombe State, and the Police Command in collaboration with other security agencies are committed to ensuring the protection of lives and property, maintenance of law and order in the state,” the statement read in part.
