NPC Partners NOA On Conduct Of 2023 Population Census

National Population Commission (NPC) has partnered with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) to ensure the success of the 2023 population and housing census.

The executive chairman of the commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, disclosed this in Abuja yesterday, when he received in his office, the director-general of NOA.

Kwarra said the partnership between the two agencies would enable the commission deliver acceptable data on the first digital census, scheduled for April 2023.

He said the collaboration and partnership with NOA would be in the areas of mobilisation, advocacy, orientation and publicity of the activities of the commission.

Earlier, the director general of NOA, Dr Garba Abari, noted that the NPC is currently in the front line of national agenda because of the 2023 Population and Housing Census.

Abari said the agency would want to play its role of social mobilisation and orientation to ensure the success of the 2023 census.

NOA prides itself as the only government agency that speaks all the languages in Nigeria, in addition to having different platforms for reaching the people, especially those at the grassroots.

The director general said the agency would depend on the commission on the type of information to be disseminated to the people, adding that the problems of Nigeria can only be solved by Nigerians.
