The ACCI president, who said there are investment opportunities within the project, also urged private sector players to take advantage of the opportunities to Cree more wealth and job opportunities.
“This shopping centre/market will be the first of its kind in Abuja and will be delivered fully completed before the end of this year,” Obegolu remarked in his address to the crowd at the International Conference Centre venue of the event.
“We must never forget that it is the private sector – not the government – that is the engine of economic opportunity. Businesses, particularly small businesses, flourish and can provide good jobs when the government acts as a productive partner,” he added.

When completed, the project will comprise premium shops, general retail shops, warehouses, cold rooms, stalls, and cafés and restaurants.

ACCI said the complex is being built to enhance the socio-economic activities of Abuja, provide a platform for year-round products for the implementation of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) where other Africans can visit to transact and buy Nigerian products.

The chamber said the project will help to meet the demand challenges of decent shopping environment for the teaming cosmopolitan population of Abuja and its environs
