University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), has said over 41of its graduating students will be awarded first class degree at its 28th convocation, taking place on the 17th February, 2024.
The vice chancellor, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, who disclosed this during a pre-convocation briefing yesterday in Abuja, said the institution will be graduating a total of 9,172.
Giving a breakdown, Na’Allah said 7,896 undergraduate, 1,276 post graduate students will be graduated.
He also said 1,845 bagged second class upper degrees, 4,842 second class lower, 1,075 third class while 50 will earn past degrees.
“The total number of graduands is 9,172. As you know, we have different kinds of programmes, we are a dual mode University. The regular programme is producing 6,237, the centre for distance learning and continuous education is producing 971 and the institute of education also has 688.
“So, the total undergraduate students come to 7,896, post graduate school, Masters and PhD, we are graduating 1,276.
“Of all the undergraduate students, First Class is 41. Second Class Honours (Upper Division) 1,845; Second Class Honours (Lower Division) 4,842; Third Class Degree 1,075; Pass Degree 50, MBBS 43, PhD 151; Masters Degree, including professional Masters is 742; post-graduate Diploma 383.”
Na’Allah said the goal of the University is to continue the story for a great university, one that is destined to be the leader of universities in Nigeria.
He emphasised that the University is training its students to not run the streets, nor wait for government jobs but to create their own enterprises.
