He said the stakeholders are the deputy governor, Ikechukwu Emetu, the member representing Aro/Ohafia federal constituency at the National Assembly, Ibe Osonwa, and himself among others.
“Engr Emetu has not only been working hard to ensure the challenge is addressed, but has also been committing his personal funds to it,” said the House Committee chairman on Environment and Urban Renewal.

“Recently, my brother and friend in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Osonwa, submitted a petition to the House on the situation. So, let’s be hopeful that the end is near.”
The lawmaker also acknowledged the efforts of the mayor of the local government, David Ogba in seeking solution to the challenge, which he described as a serious socioeconomic setback for the people.
He said on his part, he had brought the matter to the floor of the House, “consequent upon actions have been put in place to unravel the actual reasons behind the unfortunate situation”.

“I have also had couple of meetings with senior officials of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company on the matter during which they said we are indebted to the company to an outrageous amount which is very unrealistic,” he added.
Earlier, the leader of the youths, Elijah Chukwuemeka, had bemoaned the lack of electricity supply in the constituency, noting that it had brought untold hardship on the people including unemployment.
Chukwuemeka, who expressed appreciation for the quality of representation by the one-time deputy leader of Ohafia Legislative Council, described him as “a beacon of political future for youths of the constituency.”
