Speaking during the compensation exercise yesterday, the chairman, Bauchi standing committee for the assessment and payment of compensation for the properties affected by the road construction in the state, Alhaji Nuru Adamu Jumba, said that this is the first phase of the compensation exercise.

He added that the committee has made payments to those affected by the proposed construction of Winti Market Flyover Bridge.

Jumba said that the payment exercise is part of the commitment of the Governor Bala Muhammad-led administration to put a smile on the faces of those whose properties have been affected by the proposed infrastructural development in the state.

He urged others whose properties have already been assessed for the compensation to prepare their necessary documents such as passport photograph of the beneficiary and any nationally accepted identification means including national identity card, voters card, drivers licence or international passport.

Nuru Jumba applauded the committee members for their unflinching contribution and support to the success of the exercise, urging them to maintain the tempo.
