Kebbi First Lady Pledges Women Upliftment

Wife of the Kebbi State governor, Hajiya Zainab Idris has expressed her determination and commitment to creating an enabling environment where women can thrive and reach their full potential in terms of development.

She made the pledge while fielding questions from journalists during an event to mark the International Women’s Day held at Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

Hajiya Idris who acknowledged the remarkable achievements of women in various fields also highlighted their resilience, determination and spirit of innovation in the society. 

 She emphasised the crucial role women play in shaping a better tomorrow and driving progress in all aspects of lives. 

The governor’s wife noted that government under the leadership of her husband, Dr Nasir Idris would continue to implement policies and programmes that promote gender rights, education and economic empowerment with the ultimate goal of creating equal opportunities for all irrespective of gender.

She called on the people, particularly men, to salute the women who have broken barriers, inspired generations and made the world a brighter place, saying the society should create an enabling atmosphere for women to contribute to the growth and prosperity of the state and the nation.

The governor’s wife reiterated the importance of embracing the spirit of International Women’s Day and working towards a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for all.
