Teenager Commits Suicide For Stealing Money In Lagos

A 17-year-old boy, Ojibe Chibueze, has reportedly committed suicide after he was accused of stealing money from his boss at the Abijo-Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki axis of Lagos.

The state’s police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, a superintendent of police, who confirmed the report of the teenager committing suicide revealed that the deceased returned from work on Monday, February 11, rushed in took some money and went out again.

He said after the tragic incident,  the deceased master called his sister and informed her that the late brother stole N100,000 from his shop.

Hundeyin said the deceased sister simply identified as Cynthia, then went to Elemoro Police Station to complain when her brother did not return home, until she received a phone call from their neighbour that she saw him brother lying dead at the Abijo bus stop, Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.

‘’She, however, rushed to the scene and met her brother’s lifeless body with a plastic sniper beside him,’’ he said.

The police image maker added that it was presumed that the deceased drank the sniper which led to his death.

“On the receipt of the information, detectives from the division visited the scene, and foam was seen gushing out of the boy’s mouth and nose, the can of the sniper has been retrieved as an exhibit.

“The corpse has been evacuated from the scene and deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation, as the investigation is ongoing, “ he said
