Federal Govt, Bauchi Partner For Security In Schools

The Federal and Bauchi State governments have resolved to work assiduously towards implementing strategies aimed at strengthening security in schools.

The commitment was reached at a meeting between the senior special assistant to the president on Student Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon and the STATE Commissioner for Education, Dr Jamila Mohammed Dahiru in Bauchi.

According to the statement by the Information Officer of the State Ministry of Education, Jalaludeen Usman on Saturday, the meeting was to discuss how to bolster security framework in schools through the Safe Schools Initiative.

The statement said, Comrade Sunday Asefon’s visit was to collaborate with the ministry in enhancing the security architecture within schools, highlighting the significance of the Safe Schools Initiative in ensuring a safe learning environment for students.

In her response, the commissioner for Education, Dr. Jamila Dahiru reiterated the shared responsibility of ensuring security for all citizens, particularly within educational institutions.

It notes the commissioner’s affirmation to providing a safe space for students to thrive academically.

 

According to the statement, Dr Jamila thanked Comrade Sunday Asefon’s team efforts in promoting the safety of students across the nation.

 

The statement quoted the commissioner as praising Governor Bala Mohammed’s unwavering support for initiatives aimed at safeguarding schools and ensuring the protection of students.
