A socio-political group, Imo Conscience Revival for Good Governance (CRGG), has called on Governor Hope Uzodimma to ensure holistic approach and compliance to the directive dissolving all boards of government parastatals, agencies, extra ministerial departments and others in the state.

The charge came from the national coordinator of CRGG, Dr Prosper Chukwuma, who addressed newsmen in Owerri, the state capital.

He stressed that some of the boards have performed below expectation and urged the state government to inject new blood into the system, so as to reinvigorate and revive establishments such as Imo Transport Company (ITC), Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), ENTRACO and Imo Library Board and others.

He said the directive by the state government is explicit and everyone affected by the simple instruction is expected to comply with immediate effect.

Chukwuma urged Governor Uzodimma to ensure total compliance and adherence by all board members and ensure that there is no sacred cow.

He said this was against the backdrop of the fact that some board members, managing directors, general managers and directors-general still parade themselves as bonafide occupants of the various positions.

His words, “This is a simple instruction which must be obeyed holistically, government has given them opportunity to serve and they must give way for others to contribute in the development of the state. Nobody knows it all and they are not indispensable. There is time for everything, you must tow the pact of honour and vacate the seat with immediate effect.”

He commended Governor Uzodimma for the developmental strides in the state through road revolution and the capacity to choose eminent and outstanding personalities, such as Hon Ruby Emele and Barr. COC Akolisa who have paid their dues in the governance of the state.

Uzodimma had last Thursday dissolved boards of government parastatals, agencies and extra-ministerial departments in Imo State.

Agencies like Imo Transport Company (ITC), Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (Imo ENTRACO), among others were affected.

A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Oguwike Nwachuku, and made available to newsmen, stressed that the dissolution was with immediate effect.
