He said the Uba Sani-led administration has been doing a lot but the government must do more to solve the problem.

Wakili who attributed the recent security challenges facing the state to lack of direction and coordination by people in government, added that the state is experiencing serious setbacks in the execution of socio-economic, human capital and other development projects.

Wakili who flew his party’s flag for the Kaduna Central Senatorial district election in the last general election, described the present situation in Kaduna State as unpleasant.

In a statement, Wakili said the government needs to pay quick attention to security, welfare and progress of its citizens.

“On the other hand, the present insecurity challenges that has aggressively resurfaced, with devastating instances such as the Kuriga School abduction, Kajuru attacks and kidnappings are attributed to the state existing weak governance, which has resulted in poor monitoring and coordination of the state security system.

“The relative peace enjoyed by Kadunans during the past administrations is now deteriorating by the day. The present situation in the state raised so much questions about the government’s priorities and its commitment to good governance,” he said.

He added that he felt duty bound on behalf of the silent majority, to call on the Uba Sani-led administration to publish its 10-month score-card, and explain reasons for the abysmal performance, particularly in the areas of security and infrastructural development, and also state its position on the status of the littered inherited abandoned projects.

On the internally generated revenue (IGR) of the state, Wakili noted that the state’s IGR is declining, largely, due to alleged leakages in the system and lack of commitment by the government.
