Nigerian Army troops have cleared terrorists’ road blockades in Zamfara and Katsina States and recovered weapons.
The Army on its official X handle said troops on 1 April 2024 in two separate operations conducted in Zamfara and Katsina states cleared road blockades mounted by terrorists to kidnap passengers and neutralised the terrorists.

In Zamfara State, troops on a fighting patrol responded to a distress call on the blockade of Anka-Bagega road, mounted by terrorists to frustrate free movement of motorists and goods, as well as to serve as an entrapment to abduct unsuspecting civilians.
The troops who rapidly mobilised to the scene, engaged the terrorists in combat, compelling the terrorists to abandon their mission and scampered in disarray.

The troops recovered an AK-47 rifle, two AK 47 magazines, five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and one motorbike.
The statement said troops were still trailing the terrorists to deny them freedom of action in the area.
In another operation in Katsina State, troops cleared several insurgents’ camps within Yar’Malamai and Hamfudin general areas in Faskari local government area.

Troops in the conduct of the clearance operation killed one of the terrorists and recovered one locally fabricated gun, two motorcycles, six mobile phones and other sundry items.
