Ilechukwu, Obaje, Ejike Shortlisted For NPFL Award

Technical Adviser of Rangers International F.C, Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, and two of his players, Godwin Obaje and Ejike Ugochukwu are among the nominated coaches and players for the League Bloggers Award (LBA) Coach-of-The-Month for March 2024.

Coach Ilechukwu has three other coaches to contend with for the prestigious award as 3SC gaffer, Gbenga Ogunbote was also nominated alongside Kennedy Boboye of Sunshine Stars and Umar Abdullahi of Akwa United.

In the month under review, Ilechukwu of Rangers led his wards to three wins and two draws, remaining unbeaten while scoring seven goals. In comparison, Ogunbote secured three wins out of five matches played in the month with seven goals scored just as Boboye secured two wins out of four matches played with two draws with Umar securing three wins from five matches scoring nine goals.

For the LBA Player-of-the-Month, Rangers duo of Godwin Obaje and Ejike Ugochukwu would be contending with the quartet of Adams Olamilekan of Remo Stars, Christian Pyagbara of 3SC, Nenrot Silas of Plateau United and Sani Suleiman of Akwa United.

Winners of the prestigious award will be decided by a panel of Nigerian football experts, and announced by the LBA on Friday, April 5, 2024.

This is the second straight month that the young and vibrant Rangers’ gaffer will be nominated for the award and he and his wards are on a ten-match unbeaten run.
