An eye witness told LEADERSHIP Sunday that the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday following a heavy downpour which he noted, also affected a transformer.

Residents have called on the state and local governments and all concerned authorities to come to their rescue with a view to proffering urgent solutions and resettling displaced residents.

Reacting, the local government council chairman, Hon Tajudeen Bright Suleman, who was away in Enugu State for an official engagement, said he mobilised the local council officials to the scene for an on-the-spot assessment immediately he got the news.

He promised to visit victims as soon as he returned at the weekend adding that he was in touch with the deputy governor, Engineer Omobayo Godwins and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) on moves to fast-track the process of resettling affected persons.
