This followed deliberations on the committee of the whole house and the third reading of the bill by the deputy clerk, Nasiru Magaji during Monday’s plenary presided over by the speaker, Jibril Falgore.

After careful deliberations, the House unanimously adopted and passed the Kano State Pre-marital screening bill 2024.

Majority leader of the house and member representing Dala constituency, Lawan Hussein, shortly after the passage of the bill which was sponsored by him, explained that anyone intending to marry shall first submit himself for medical examinations.

The House however adjourned sitting to today in a motion moved by the majority leader, Hon Lawan Hussaini.
