Twin Brothers, 2 Others Land In Police Net For Burglary, Receipt Of Stolen Goods

Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command said a set of twins, Olasoji Kehinde and Olasoji Taiwo have been arrested for breaking into a shop and stealing items which they later sold.

Two other persons were also apprehended by the police for receiving the stolen items from the two teenage suspects.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Sunday Abutu said, “On 25/04/2024 at about 08:00hrs, one Olasoji Kehinde and Olasoji Taiwo were arrested while attempting to break a shop at Mathew Street, Odo-Ado, Ado-Ekiti.

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime”.

Police spokesperson said the twins further confessed to be responsible for burgling of three shop in Fayemi Market at Agric Olope area of Ado-Ekiti.

Two bags of rice, two bags of beans and other valuables valued at Nine Hundred and Thirty-Six Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Naira (₦936,750:00) were carted away in the process.

“Further investigation by the Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS) led to the arrest of one Afolayan Funke ‘f’ and Nnaji Benignus Aroh ‘m’ who the suspects claimed have been receiving stolen properties from them,” the statement stated.

Abutu said the suspects will be arraigned in court accordingly.
