Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has described elder statesman and former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, as a guiding light, an iconic leader and an inestimable gift to Enugu State, Nigeria and humanity.
Mbah stated this in his birthday greeting to the octogenarian, who turned 84 yesterday, adding that Nwobodo’s legacies as governor of old Anambra State remained exemplary and indelible on the sands of time.
Paying tribute to the former minister of youths and sports, Mbah said, “On behalf of my family and the good people of our dear state, I send warm felicitations to Your Excellency on your birthday.
“We celebrate not only your age but also your distinction in service. At 84, you remain a rare gem and a gift to Waawaland, Igboland, Nigeria, and humanity. It is worthy of note that you laid the foundation for the new Enugu State for the younger generations to build on, as your legacies as governor of the old Anambra State remain indelible and a reference point for over 40 years.
“We appreciate your place as a guiding light, a bastion of justice, political iroko, pan-Nigerian, and a diplomatic, yet a fearless leader, who has given his all in service to fatherland.
“We pray God to grant you many more years and keep you in good health and grace so that we can continue to draw from your wealth of knowledge and experience.
