Sunmonu Ademola Owolabi: Sunset For A Blood Donor

He lived a life dotted in sacrifice, first as a donor to humanity ,this he exemplified all through his 71 years existence donating blood to people in need. Every year for many years, he has donated blood four times  and many times in all his years . This he did without the expectation of a monetary gratification. Today, he laid bare, buried beneath the earth as he sojourned eternally in the bosom of the Lord. Alhaji Sunmonu Ademola Owolabi is gone but his traces of sacrifice live on permanent references. He has saved many pregnant women, accident victims, anemic patients, and those who needed blood to stay alive. He lived and died gushing with the infectious pour of sacrifices

A native of Igbehin, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, was born on September 4th, 1953. He is survived by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. Throughout his life, he exemplified dedication, discipline, and a strong sense of service to his country and community.

Mr. Owolabi had a distinguished career in the Federal Ministries, serving in various capacities in the Ministries of Agriculture, Information, Education, and Head of Service. He retired in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of diligence and  patriotism. His commitment to public service was unwavering, and he inspired others with his work ethic and integrity.

Beyond his professional life, Mr. Owolabi was a selfless individual who made a positive impact on those around him. He was a regular blood donor at the National Blood  Service Commission and later at the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service. His generosity and willingness to help others in need continued until he reached the age limit for blood donation.

Mr. Owolabi’s life was a testament to the power of dedication, discipline, and selflessness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy serves as an inspiration to future generations, reminding us of the importance of serving others and giving back to our communities.

Today, we honor the legacy of a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to saving others. Through his selfless blood donations, he touched countless lives, bringing hope and healing to those in need.

With every donation, he showed us the true meaning of compassion and generosity. His infectious commitment to helping others is a testament to the power of humanity and the impact one person can have.

Though they may be gone, his legacy lives on through the lives he saved and the families he brought joy to. We remember his kindness, humility, and selflessness.

May his example inspire us all to make a difference in the lives of others. Rest in peace, dear blood donor. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
