JEF is an NGO committed to empowering women and young girls by providing them education, healthcare and skills acquisition through sponsorship, campaigns and strategic partnerships with local and international institutions.

The official commencement of the programme which held at Throne Room Trust Ministries Auditorium in Kafanchan yesterday with the theme; “Health for all, hunger for none” had benefitting women and girls in attendance.

Speaking during the orientation and sensitisation programme, Comrade Mobolaji Adesonya, Project coordinator for Kaduna WEE Project, said the reason for the project was to empower women who would in turn improve their production output in their endeavours and give back to the society, while
applauding the efforts of the women in farm occupation and the need to usher them in with their young ones, especially the girl child with the necessary skills acquisition.

According to him, the programme is targeting mostly women and a few men because women have a great impact and role to play in households, adding that if a woman is trained, the aims and objectives of the programme would be achieved, just as he urged the beneficiaries to pay attention and learn the new skills that would be impacted on them, and make judicious use of the opportunity offered them after the program.

Programme manager of JEF, Joe Out, said the programme was organised by a consortium of other organisations funded by BAYA foundation for women’s economic empowerment in Kaduna State, with the pilot programme in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas primarily aimed at increasing the economic growth of the households of women.

He solicited the cooperation of the women while urging them to count themselves opportune to be a part of the training which according to him was timely because of the economic hardship people are facing.
