Governor Bala Mohammed Mourns Bauchi Commissioner

Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed has expressed his deepest condolences on the demise of his longtime confidant and the commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Ahmed Aliyu Jalam, popularly known as Mai Kankana who died as a result of a ghastly motor accident on Saturday.

The tragic accident occurred on the Misau-Darazo Highway, leading to his immediate death and his driver.

Bala, in a condolence message issued by his media aide, Mukhtar Gidado yesterday, described the late commissioner as a dedicated public servant whose commitment to the development and well-being of his local communities was unwavering.

“During his lifetime, he championed numerous initiatives to improve good governance and community relations. Late Ahmed Jalam was known for his tireless work, integrity, and compassion for the people he served and his service will be remembered and cherished by all.

“His demise is deeply felt by His Excellency Governor Bala Mohammed, his cabinet colleagues, friends, family, and the countless individuals whose lives he touched during his lifetime.

“Governor Bala Mohammed, on behalf of his family, government, and the good people of Bauchi State, extends his deepest condolences to the members of his immediate family and the entire people of the State,” Gidado said.

He prayed that the Almighty Allah would forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanna Firdaus.

Late Ahmed Aliyu Jalam died and left behind wife and many children. He was buried yesterday according to Islamic rites in his hometown, Jalam, in the Dambam local government area of Bauchi State.
