Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has disclosed that the state’s unity is very important and is one of the cardinal points of his administration.

He emphasised the need for unity on the bench because there is only one judiciary in the state.
Mutfwang stated this during the valedictory court session in honour of the former president of Plateau State Customary Court of Appeal, the late Hon. Justice Gabriel Sha, at the State high court complex in Jos.

According to him, whether it is the customary component of the court or the regular judiciary there is only one judiciary. He stressed that they must all work as a united judiciary in dispensing justice from the citadel of justice without fear or favour.

The governor who was represented by the state attorney general and commissioner for justice, Philemon Daffi, said his administration and people of the state identified with the family of the late Hon. Justice Adamu Sha and commiserate with the widow, Justice Roseline Sha and children over the loss.

According to him, this is a time for due reflection. He stressed that one needs to be careful how he/she lives his/her life and those silent chapters will be read in one’s absence; as one will not be there to dispute, defend or concur.

“Valedictory court session is a time to know the silent chapters of a man, nobody would have thought that the Hon. Justice Adamu Sha was a farmer, but those are the types of silent chapters of a man.

“While late Hon. Adamu Sha was also a great hunter of animals in the bush, he returned to hunt for the human soul through evangelism. The challenge now is, what are we hunting for today?” the governor added.

Chief Justice of Plateau State, Hon. David Mang and Chief Pius Akubo (SAN) who also spoke on behalf of members of the Inner Bar, said the late Hon. Adamu exited without any blemish, adding that his leadership style, innovation, thinking and integrity earned him admiration from all.
