President Bola Tinubu has condemned the attack on residents of Dutsin-Ma and Kankara local government areas of Katsina State.
While describing the latest attacks as horrible and sinister, the president, in a statement by his spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, said more would be done to secure citizens and completely degrade terrorists and other harbingers of death and sorrow in any part of the country.
Tinubu directed security agencies to go after the assailants and ensure that they were brought to justice.
The president condoled with the families of the deceased, as well as the government and people of Katsina State, and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.
Meanwhile, Governor Umaru Radda of Katsina State has expressed his sadness over the recent attack on Gidan Boka village, Kankara local government area of the state.
He described the attack as “senseless violence tragically claimed the lives of 26 people, including brave members of our security services.”
The governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and their beloved well wishes affected by the attack; he joined citizens of the state in praying for the repose of the souls of the departed and comfort for the bereaved families during this difficult time.
According to a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, the governor said the killings represent a significant setback in its ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of all residents, recognising the tireless efforts of security forces who continue to confront these criminal elements that threaten peace in the state.
