The Abuja Literary Society (ASL) yesterday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Architect Ferdinand Agwu, who passed away last Friday at the age of 64.

Agwu, who served as the chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Abuja Literary Society, was a pivotal figure in the literary community and will be deeply missed.

During the visit, led by a renowned poet Dike Chukwumerije, the society expressed its profound sorrow over Agwu’s sudden passing. “We came this afternoon to express our condolences to his family.

“Ferdinand Agwu was not known to be ill before his sudden demise. He leaves behind his wife, four children, and two grandchildren,” he stated.

He mentioned that the literary society is planning a special evening of readings to honour Agwu, highlighting his passion for literature and his support for young creatives.

“He was a brilliant, intelligent man and a powerful orator who encouraged young people to engage in the literary arts. We cherish him and will miss him greatly,” he said.

Also, the second son of the late Ferdinand Agwu, Lotana Agwu said it came as a shock and with much sadness. Still, with total submission to the will of God, the family has accepted the passing of their beloved father, grandfather, and mentor.

He provided more details about his father’s life and accomplishments. Born on July 26, 1960, Ferdinand Agwu was deeply involved in church activities and educational initiatives, including a significant role in the renovation of All Saints Church, Abuja.

“My Dad was deeply involved in church activities and educational initiatives, including a significant role in the renovation of All Saints Church, Abuja.”

“My father was a man of great standing and influence, contributing to many facets of society. He was a beacon in our community and an inspiration to many,” he said.
