The executive secretary of the agency, Dr. Razaq Akindele, who disclosed this at the Correspondents’ Chapel of Osun NUJ personality interview programme tagged: “Newspoint” said the figure consists of 244,000 enrollees in the formal sector while only 13,462 are from the informal sector.

He commended Governor Ademola Adeleke’s support for the agency but regretted that despite an intensive campaign by the agency, people still don’t understand the scheme’s benefits.

Akindele said the governor has demonstrated his commitment to the healthcare and well-being of the Osun people through his spontaneous responses to the agency’s demands.

He disclosed that the governor recently ordered the enrollment of all pensioners in the state free of charge, adding that plans are ongoing to enrol persons with disabilities and even pregnant women.

His words: “Just recently, some government hospitals were complaining about equipment that could perform better; we went to the governor, he acted promptly, and about three months ago, we gave equipment worth more than N200 million to all government hospitals free of charge.”

Akindele urged residents of Osun State to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Osun Health Insurance Agency for strategic healthcare delivery in the state.
