According to him, a large number of residents who survived the attack had to escape to neighbouring towns including Bayawa, Augie, Argungu and parts of Sokoto state for safety.

A statement issued yesterday by the police spokesman, Kebbi State Command, DSP Abubakar Nasir, indicated that the commissioner of police, Ahmed Magai Kontagora and his team in conjunction with tactical personnel had visited the communities to ensure adequate security while normalcy had since been restored in the areas affected.

The statement added that the security team also visited the IDP camp where some villagers ran for safety as a result of the attack and assured them of the release of their family members from captivity.
