As part of efforts towards ensuring maternal and child safety, the FCT administration has launched a free healthcare initiative targeting pregnant women and others.

Speaking during the outreach tagged: “Renewed Hope Free Medical Outreach” in Kuje Area Council, FCT, the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, said the initiative was aimed at providing affordable and quality health care services to residents of FCT.

Represented by the mandate secretary on Health and Environment Secretariat,  FCT, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, she said  “Healthcare is essential to life. If we build all the roads and we don’t have good healthcare, we can’t enjoy the roads. We are thinking of the human development index, the social determinant of health, and the physical determinant of health and saying health is not just the absence of disease, it is your total well-being.

“The thrust of this government is to renew hope and when we see programmes like this, it is to renew hope. We also want to thank the people of Kuje for their cooperation.”
