Ex-Super Eagles Manager Finidi Returns To Rivers United As Head Coach

Rivers United have appointed Finidi George as their new head coach.

Finidi was unveiled by the former Nigeria Premier Football League champions in Port Harcourt on Wednesday.

Rivers United had sacked its long-serving tactician, Stanley Eguma, towards the end of last season.

The former Ajax winger, Finidi George, had managed nine-time NPFL champions, Enyimba, for three years before moving up to coach the national team, the Super Eagles.

Finidi masterminded Enyimba’s title success in the 2022/23 season.

His brief stint with the National Team was dogged with controversies following lacklustre performance by the Super Eagles in the ongoing 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
