The Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) chairman, Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, charged aspirants to help diffuse tension by adhering strictly to the guidelines, as well as accept the outcome of the contest in the spirit of sportsmanship.

He gave the advice at the weekend during the team’s visit to Wards 5 and 6 stakeholders’ meeting held at Ikot Oku Usung village, in Ukanafun LGA.

Akpan also advised that those who are not able to actualise their political aspirations should not nurse any grudge against the winners or the party because they are members of one united family, adding that “a bend in the road is not the end of the road as the failed attempt is not fatal.”
