An Ikirun-born philanthropist and All Peoples Movement (APM) senatorial candidate for Osun Central, Ibraheem Luqman, has offered to provide two years’ accommodation for the father of late gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, and scholarships for the deceased’s two daughters.
The offer followed public attention to the living conditions of the singer’s father, Muniru Adekunle Olayemi, after images and videos of him circulated on social media.
In a campaign statement issued, Luqman said his team had been dispatched to Ikirun, Osun State, to meet the family and communicate the offer of support.
According to the statement, the candidate offered to provide the singer’s father with decent accommodation in Ikirun for at least two years and sponsor the education of his two granddaughters up to higher institution level.
A member of the delegation, in a video shared online, said Luqman was concerned about the father’s housing conditions and wanted him to have a comfortable place to live.
“Luqman asked us to visit you for two reasons. Firstly, he is concerned about your housing condition. He said we should find a comfortable place for you to live for at least two years, where you can have peace of mind.
“He also said he wants to sponsor your grandchildren’s education up to the higher institution level, so he would like to have your permission,” the delegate said.
The delegate described Toluwanisings’ death as heartbreaking, noting that the singer was one of the stars of Ikirun.
The campaign said the offers reflected Luqman’s concern for vulnerable people and his commitment to supporting members of the community. It added that the proposed assistance was intended to ease the family’s difficulties and support the future of the singer’s children.
The statement, however, presented the accommodation and scholarships as offers and pledges, without indicating that the arrangements had already been implemented.
Toluwanisings died in the early hours of October 14, 2026, in Ibadan after reportedly slumping.
His personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo, had alleged that they visited several hospitals in search of treatment before the singer died.
