The founder, who made the call during an interview with journalists in Kaduna on the upcoming 25th anniversary of the school, said the move to address drug abuse from family is imperative.
The 91-year-old Italian-Nigerian reverend sister said drug abuse is a seed on the ground, adding that parents and guardians should be vigilant about young ones, especially children.

“Teachers must teach the best morals, but the parents must do their job as they have more work. The government must also keep in touch through policy formulation and implementation through the necessary security agencies,” she said.

Carrozzo stressed that educating families on the dangers of drug abuse would help in reducing the menace.

She also advised women to stay close to their children and be friends to stop them from making wrong friends.

Carrozzo, who also spoke on girl-child education, maintained that parents must guide against early marriage and premarital sex, saying that it will reduce unwanted pregnancy and early marriage, especially for girls.
