A civil society organisation (CSO), Grassroots Solidarity Group (GSG), has hailed Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu on the appointment of Hon Boniface Okache as deputy chief of staff.

The group, in a statement signed by the national coordinator, Comrade Ebriku John Friday, described the governor’s appointment as a step in the right direction for placing people in the right positions.

Friday said the organisation salutes the courage of the governor in making smart appointments based on the personalities and pedigree they possess.

According to the group, Okache, who hails from Ada Okpoma Yala in Cross River State, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served in key governmental positions.

The group added that before this appointment, he was the Secretary of Council in Yala Local Government, instrumental in various administrative and community-focused initiatives and development.

Meanwhile, other notable personalities the Governor appointed include Hon Angela Odey who served as the immediate past Director-General Cross River State Emergency Management Agency.
