Same as in the city centres and shopping areas you can’t just park as if you are the landlord of the road or street. You pay in the ticket machine and park properly with the receipt of payment, placed neatly inside your car, by the corner of your windscreen were officials will see and know you did the right thing. Mind you, that is also timed, as such, to avoid a fine you have to leave at a certain time! Before, we used to have officials watching out for cars parked wrongly. But presently no one seems to be particularly tasked with that job. I really don’t know what happened to those uniformed officials we used to have, it’s like they just vanished into thin air! Who knows, maybe the probably offended the wrong person, perhaps one ‘big man’ had his car clamped and did not find it funny.
