‘Tinubu’s Mother Abibat Mogaji, Was Outstanding Entrepreneur

Ten years after her death, the former personal photographer of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Mr Stephen Adedayo, has described the late President, Iyaloja -general of Nigeria and mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, late Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, as a shining example of entrepreneurship in the country.

Adedayo, who was among the guests that came for the 10th year remembrance Fidau (Prayer) in memory of business magnate and President Bola Tinubu’s mother, Alhaja Abibatu Ashabi Mogaji organised by Lagos State government in Ikeja area of the state during an interview with journalists urged everyone to emulate the good virtues of the late Abibatu Mogaji who he said was an agent of change in her immediate community.

According to him, the late Mogaji was a woman of tremendous grace, and resilience, a staunch advocate for the welfare and development of the grassroots, adding that she was a trailblazer for breaking barriers for women to take up leadership roles in the business circle.

He described Alhaja Abibat Mogaji as a woman of remarkable achievements and a shining example of entrepreneurship, leadership, and community service.

Adedayo maintained that her legacy includes among others, pioneering the development of the famous Lagos Market, which became a hub of commercial activity and economic growth, empowering countless women through her leadership and mentorship as well as inspiring a new generation of female entrepreneurs and leaders.

Other attributes according to Adedayo included, providing tireless support to her community, offering guidance, wisdom, and resources to those in need, among others.

Adedayo maintained that he would always miss Mama Abibat Mogaji because, “The woman had fostered a culture of education and excellence, she encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams and aspirations, not only that, she built bridges across cultural and religious divides, promoting understanding, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.’’

She also demonstrated unwavering resilience and strength in the face of adversity, inspiring others with her courage and determination”, Adedayo said.
