Popular, international game show Family Feud will grace Nigeria screens starting October 7, 2022, courtesy of the MTN Nigeria in collaboration with Ultima Studios.
MTN’s announcement of support for the show took place at its headquarter in Ikoyi, where it unveiled actress, Bisola Aiyeola as the show’s host.
Originated in the US, Family Feud was originally hosted by actor, comedian and TV presenter, Steve Harvey, who hosted the show in the US, Ghana and South Africa). Harvey’s unfamiliarity with and culture shock upon contact with various African cultures is a huge part of the show’s charm.
Expressing her excitement, Aiyeola said, ‘‘I am thrilled to be hosting Family Feud. It is a show I have come to love; and I look forward to sharing the experience with families across Nigeria. The questions are hilarious and when you mix that with our unique Nigerian humour, expect nothing but non-stop laughter. It’s more than just asking questions. Part of the fun is revealing the unique personalities of individual members of families.’’
“One of the things that keep families together is shared activity, and whether it is competing on Family Feud or watching weekly episodes, the show will give people another avenue to bond. It will be informative, provide comic relief and showcase the personalities of different families across generation,’’ said MTN Chief Digital Officer, Aisha Umar-Mumuni.
Beyond its capacity to regale and reconnect families, Ultima Studios’ CEO, Femi Ayeni said it rewards families as they play and win cash and other prizes.
The show will premiere on DSTV and GOTV Africa’s Magic Family and Africa Magic Urban respectively on October 7, 2022, before its extension to other terrestrial TV channels including Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
