LEADERSHIP  gathered that Naja’atu had entered the bathroom in the female hostel at the Gubi campus to have a bath and prepare for lectures but was later found lying unconscious.

“She had done every routine preparation for the morning class before going into the bathroom. She brought what she planned to wear to the class and kept them on the side of her bed,” one of her roommates said.

ATBU spokesman, Zailani Bappa, said she was rushed to the university’s clinic but medical personnel were unable to find a vein in her body.

“Having noticed this, Naja’atu was rushed to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital where she was certified dead by medical doctors,” he said.

Bappa said Naja’atu had been buried according to Islamic rites and prayed for the repose of her soul.

The students union in a condolence message signed by the secretary, Comrade Danladi Zakiru, described the deceased as a hardworking student who would greatly be missed.
